About strops.tools
strops.tools is the operations leg of a four-site host suite. Each site lives on a different stage of the host lifecycle and feeds the next one.
Who runs it
Daniel Harrison, behind The STR Ledger. Same shop that ships Excel templates for hosts, plus the rest of the cluster: strbuyers.tools (acquisition), strhost.tools (math), strops.tools (operations — you are here), and strguests.tools (guest XP).
What's free, what's not
Everything you can run on this site is free. The seven calculators run client-side — no accounts, no rate limits, no email gate on the math itself. Three printable PDFs are gated by email so we can keep them updated.
The paid product is The STR Ledger — Excel workbooks for cash flow, P&L, owner statements, and the rest of the financial backbone. Tools surface the operational gap; the Ledger turns it into reportable numbers.
How we make money
Affiliate links to operations vendors (smart locks, noise monitors, PMS, cleaner marketplaces) and Ledger sales. No tool here pushes you to an affiliate before it runs the math.
Why so plain
The audience is hosts who run multiple properties. Sophisticated operators tune out a hard sell and reward speed. Tools are the magnet; repeat use is the moat. The aesthetic is operations-utility on purpose.
